U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Matthew Brown, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa commanding general, presided over the CJTF- HOA change of responsibility from U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Ted Braxton, outgoing CJTF- HOA command senior enlisted leader, to U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Mike Brown, incoming CJTF-HOA CSEL, at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Aug. 11.

U.S. Africa Command, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, and the Kentucky Army National Guard teamed up with Djiboutian forces for a cybersecurity and radio communications fundamentals skills-sharing initiative that blended instruction, live demonstrations, and practical exercises.

The Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa Multinational Coordination Cell hosted a tabletop exercise with French, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and South Korean partners June 23-26 at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti.

U.S. military service members from Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), will forward deploy to Manda Bay, Kenya, and conduct an outstation crisis response exercise (OSCRE) March 26, 2025.

U.S. Military service members from Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), will conduct a long standing pre-planned exercise with the U.S. Embassy in Tanzania in support of security cooperation efforts for the region and enhancing the Tanzania crisis response capabilities. The exercise is conducted by the East Africa Response Force in collaboration with the Tanzania’s People Defense Forces.

Djibouti City residents will experience increased base activity over the coming days due to U.S. and partner nations' Allied Appreciation Day air operations from Nov. 9-11, 2021.
