CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (April 23, 2012) - Newly-frocked U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Deirdra A. Smith, a logistics specialist with Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, stands at attention as Camp Lemonnier Commanding Officer Capt. Scott L. Hurst reads her order of promotion during a frocking ceremony held at the camp's Morale, Welfare and Recreation facility, 11 Degrees North, April 23. Scott L. Hurst reads her order of promotion during a frocking ceremony held at the camp's Morale, Welfare and Recreation facility, 11 Degrees North, April 23. Thornton, who enlisted Aug. 28, 1988, currently serves as senior enlisted leader for Camp Lemonnier's communications department. Thornton is also the senior enlisted advisor for her reserve unit at NOSC Fort Worth, Navy Reserve Africa Command Headquarters Detachment 108.
