Retired U.S. Army General Norman Schwarzkopf once said, “Leadership is a potent combination of strategy and character.” The Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa is privileged to have had this type of leadership over the past year.
During a ceremony June 5 at the Djiboutian Armed Forces (FAD) Camp Cheik Osman Parade Field in Djibouti, Africa, Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa leaders joined Djibouti's prime minister and hundreds of Djiboutian military defenders in celebration of the FAD's 36th anniversary.

With all the academic work, Mission Rehearsal Exercise and months of preparation behind them, the majority of the new core staff for Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa officially begins work February 4, 2010. Made up mostly of Navy Individual Augmentees and two Army members, the 59 new core staff members fill positions including commander, deputy commander, chief of staff, command element commanders and other key positions, including those in remote operating bases in East Africa.<
