Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa Image

Nevada National Guard Sgt. Corey Metzker and Spc. Richard Taylor, 422nd Expeditionary Signal Battalion, currently assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa’s communications unit, oversee Burundian National Defense Force soldiers as they install a newly refurbished African Data Sharing Network terminal June 8 – 17, 2016, at Bujumbura, Burundi. The Soldiers led a sharing of best practices for installing, operating, and maintaining their African Data Sharing Network satellite terminal. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
