CJTF-HOA and Camp Lemonnier members participate in the Joint Warrior Competition

U.S. Navy Lt. j.g. Christina Hammervold, Task Force Sparta platoon commander, runs a five-mile Army ruck march during the Joint Warrior Competition, Nov. 19, 2016, Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. The ruck march began after participants had already completed a two-mile run, pull-ups, sit-ups, and push-ups. Members had to carry a minimum of 35 pounds during the march. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
