Troop contributing partners receive staff officer training

U.S. Army Capt. Dewight Cassells, a civil affairs team chief with the 411th Army Civil Affairs Battalion, mentors and advises a multinational group of students from Uganda, Kenya and Burundi to conduct humanitarian assistance planning during the command post exercise of the Africa Contingency Operations Training and Assistance force headquarters training program held at the Humanitarian Peace Support School in Nairobi, Kenya, March 9, 2017. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
