3rd Air Force commander visits Airmen in Africa (7) of (8)

Lt. Gen. Richard Clark, commander of the 3rd Air Force and 17th Expeditionary Air Force, meets Staff Sgt. Daniel Buford, electrical power production specialist for the 870th Air Expeditionary Squadron while visiting an airfield in southern Djibouti, April 12, 2017 to engage with Airman deployed to the installation and surrounding duty stations. The visit allowed Clark and accompanying leadership to gain a better understanding of the Air Force mission in East Africa, and express their appreciation to the many U.S. Airmen deployed throughout the region. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
