U.S. Marines strengthen Djiboutian Army by leading joint bilateral academy course in Africa

U.S. Marine Sgt. Raymundo Rodriguez, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) budget chief and faculty advisor for the CJTF-HOA Joint Corporals Course, assists in advising Abdo-Salam Yacin, a Djibouti Armed Forces (FAD) soldier, during sword instruction held at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Oct. 7, 2017. The skillsets provided through the course can help CJTF-HOA in supporting Djibouti by reinforcing abilities that can be used in combating transnational threats, executing effective peace operations, responding to crisis and promoting regional stability. Lapse In Appropriations
The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sept. 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status, without pay, until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
