Joint service personnel and Djibouti Port Authority take part in first-ever Djibouti port exercise

U.S. Army Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 141st Infantry Regiment, Task Force Alamo, Texas National Guard, deployed to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), Djibouti, receive a simulated casualty from U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Coastal Riverine Squadron 8, CJTF-HOA, during the first-ever U.S. military exercise at the Port of Djibouti, Dec. 19, 2018. U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
