Joint service personnel and Djibouti Port Authority take part in first-ever Djibouti port exercise

U.S. Army Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 141st Infantry Regiment, Task Force Alamo, Texas National Guard, deployed to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), Djibouti, receive a simulated casualty from U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Coastal Riverine Squadron 8, CJTF-HOA, during the first-ever U.S. military exercise at the Port of Djibouti, Dec. 19, 2018. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
