There are parts of the world where survival comes only by the hands and hearts of the people who strive for it. But without proper knowledge, that survival is sometimes threatened. A group of professionals from Combined Joint Task Force -- Horn of Africa shared some of their knowledge during trauma care training hosted by World Health.

Caring For Those Who Serve: Red Cross Opens First Station On Camp Lemonnier

The American Red Cross opened the doors to its first station in Africa, September 28, as part of an ongoing effort to provide quality service to military members and civilian employees at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti.

The station, dedicated solely to Camp Lemonnier personnel, will enable the Red Cross to bring previously unavailable capabilities to the military installation and its personnel.

Djiboutian military medical professionals joined their Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) counterparts for a week-long medical seminar to share basic lifesaving skills at the Djibouti Ministry of Defense Health Service facility in Djibouti City.
