CJ44 Force Engineers meet with Kalaf village elders to improve water well system

Members of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa J44 Force Engineers met with village elders to determine what improvements needed to be made to the community water cistern and well, May 17, 2016, in Kalaf, Djibouti. U.S. Navy Cmdr. Chris Myers and Lt. Trang Tieu, CJTF-HOA J44 Force Engineers, and Abdi Ali, translator and guide, talked with the village elders and measured the water level in the well to help determine the community needs.

The East Africa Response Force (EARF), comprised of members from Task Force Paxton under the direction of CJTF-HOA, conducted an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise (EDRE) on April 3, 2024, assessing their capacity to effectively deploy, reinforce, and subsequently support any potential needs of the U.S. Embassy in Bujumbura, Burundi.

The final approach: 3-58th Airfield Operations Battalion embark on last deployment before deactivation
After 37 years of providing airfield management and air traffic support at deployed locations throughout the world, the 3-58th Airfield Operations Battalion embarks on their final deployment with the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa. The unit will be dissolved upon completion of their tour as part of a U.S. Army reorganization plan.
