U.S. Military officials gain insight of current operations and future endeavors during visit to Mogadishu.

U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Barre Seguin, U.S. Africa Command director of strategy, plans, and programs, and U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Eric Vollmecke, the Deputy Director for Strategic Initiatives, Joint Staff, receive a tour from Maj. Gen. Kurt Sonntag, Commanding General of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, of an operation point for the U.S. Military on Dec. 1, 2016, in Mogadishu, Somalia. The tour gave the Generals insight of current operations and vision of future endeavors.

The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
