Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa Image

A Djibouti Armed Forces (FAD) service member connects a cord to run between an Africa Data Sharing Network (ADSN) modem and laptop Sept. 29, 2016, at FAD Headquarters in Djibouti. While conducting the best practices training, the U.S. Army, assigned to Combined Joint Task-Horn of Africa, also held an ADSN validation with the FAD soldiers to prepare them to deploy to Somalia. The ADSN provides network and Voice over Internet Protocol capabilities between the several African countries participating in Africa Union Mission in Somalia. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
