The French host a NEO exercise with CJTF-HOA members and international partners in Djibouti

U.S. service members assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa and distinguished visitors, and volunteers load onto an aircraft and observe the process during a non-combatant evacuation exercise (NEO) at the French Marine 5th Regiment, Nov. 16, 2016, in Djibouti, Djibouti. The French invited international partners to the exercise to allow them to observe and exchange information about the event. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
