CJTF-HOA and Camp Lemonnier members participate in the Joint Warrior Competition

U.S. service members assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa and Camp Lemonnier call in to arrange a simulated medical evacuation after a buddy carry during the Joint Warrior Competition, Nov. 19, 2016, Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. After the joint physical fitness test, participants started the joint combat fitness test. The combat test was comprised of a low crawl, tourniquet application, buddy carry, radio medical evacuation, grenade toss, tire flip, ammo can carry, dead lift, and rope climb. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
