CJTF-HOA hosts memorial service for fallen Seabees

Naval Mobile Construction Battalion One (NMCB-1) of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) Djibouti, are holding a Wreath Laying Memorial Service, May 2, 2017, at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. The ceremony is honoring seven Navy Seabees who gave their lives while serving NMCB-14 during Operation Iraqi Freedom on May 2, 2004. In honor of these courageous Seabees and all service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice, the memorial honors and keeps their memories alive. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt. U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
