CJTF-HOA Task Force Alamo Soldiers compete for German Armed Forces Badge

U.S. Army Capt. Joseph Brunone, right, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, Task Force Alamo, Texas National Guard, assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), Djibouti, has his backpack weighed by German Navy Lt. Cmdr. Katharina Wrede, after a “ruckrun” for the German Armed Forces Badge (GAFB) for Military Proficiency in Djibouti, Jan. 15, 2019. The GAFB is awarded to and worn by German service members of all ranks. Allied service members may also be awarded the badge, subject to their nations' uniform regulations. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
