CJTF-HOA transports cargo to Mozambique

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Kyra Blades, a loadmaster from the 16th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, supporting Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), shifts cargo inside a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III to create space for U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) supplies at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, April 2, 2019, for the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) humanitarian relief effort in the Republic of Mozambique and surrounding areas following Cyclone Idai. CJTF-HOA, which is leading the DoD relief effort, transported 17,400 pounds of USAID food, a forklift, a 25K loader and palletizing equipment on the C-17 to Mozambique following a call for assistance from the USAID Disaster Assistance Response Team.
