CJTF-HOA transports cargo to Mozambique

Department of Defense personnel load a U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) food pallet onto a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, supporting Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, April 2, 2019, for the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) humanitarian relief effort in the Republic of Mozambique and surrounding areas following Cyclone Idai. CJTF-HOA, which is leading the DoD relief effort, transported 17,400 pounds of USAID food, a forklift, a 25K loader and palletizing equipment on the C-17 to Mozambique following a call for assistance from the USAID Disaster Assistance Response Team. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
