411th CAB assumes CJTF-HOA Civil Affairs mission

Zana, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) commander, thanks the outgoing 403rd Civil Affairs Battalion (CAB) and welcomes the incoming 411th CAB during a transfer of responsibility ceremony at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, April 15, 2022. In support of U.S. Africa Command and CJTF-HOA, the 411th CAB now has responsibility for two civil affairs companies: Civil Affairs West Africa and Civil Affairs East Africa. US AFRICOM Commander Visits East Africa Region
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
