2020 National Day in Djibouti

The U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti, Larry André, hosted the annual National Day celebration at his residence in Djibouti City, Djibouti, Feb. 11, 2020. The event commemorates the 244th year of U.S. independence and is typically held each spring to avoid the summer heat. Military personnel from Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), Camp Lemonnier Djibouti (CLDJ), coalition partners, guests, and U.S. Embassy staff attended the celebration.

The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.
