CJTF-HOA celebrates Partner Appreciation Day

U.S. and coalition service members participated in a Partnership Appreciation Day event at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Nov. 10, 2022. The event celebrated the 20th anniversary of the landfall of U.S. service members in Djibouti after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, and gave partners and allies a chance to mingle, and learn about one anothers militaries and cultures. U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), and AFRICOM senior leaders, conducted a series of high-level visits to Africa with stops in Ethiopia, Somaliland and Puntland, Nov. 23-27, 2025. The visits were part of an East Africa trip aimed to strengthen America’s strategic approach to confronting terrorism through mutual engagement, stronger cooperation, and aligned security priorities.

The Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, alongside Djiboutian, French, Japanese and European Union Naval Forces joined together for the semiannual Bull Shark 25-2 exercise in the vicinity of Arta Range, Djibouti, to strengthen communication and collaboration among international partners and allies from May 5-6.
