U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visited with CJTF-HOA personnel on his stop in Djibouti, as part of his tour through Africa. Secretary Tillerson traveled to Djibouti to discuss the U.S.-Djiboutian partnership, and exchanged views on bilateral concerns, security threats, and economic reforms. As part of the State Partnership Program (SPP), U.S. Army National Guard leaders Brig. Gen. Benjamin Adams III, Kentucky deputy adjutant general, and Command Sgt. Maj. David Munden, Kentucky state command sergeant major, visited with members of the Djibouti Armed Forces (FAD) at their military training center in Holhol, Djibouti, Nov. 14, 2017.
Engineers of CJTF-HOA are working with laborers from the Africa First Initiative in Djibouti to renovate the region, solidifying the ongoing partnership between the U.S. and Republic of Djibouti.
Delegates from the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) visited Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, recently to learn best practices from directorates within Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa and build relationships between the two organizations. The EASF and CJTF-HOA plan to work together to coordinate timely disaster relief, security and peacetime operations.
