U.S. provides Defender patrol boats to Djiboutian Navy

Four Defender patrol boats arrived in port at Djibouti City, Djibouti, in two shipments in late February as part of a train-and-equip partnership between the U.S. Department of State and the Djiboutian military. 2020 National Day in Djibouti

The U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti, Larry André, hosted the annual National Day celebration at his residence in Djibouti City, Djibouti, Feb. 11, 2020. The event commemorates the 244th year of U.S. independence and is typically held each spring to avoid the summer heat. Military personnel from Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), Camp Lemonnier Djibouti (CLDJ), coalition partners, guests, and U.S. Embassy staff attended the celebration.
