Remembrance Day Ceremonies across the United Kingdom have been different this year because of COVID restrictions. However, members of the British Army embedded at Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) were able to participate in an Act of Remembrance on Sunday Nov. 8, 2020 at the New European Cemetery, in Djibouti City, Djibouti.

When U.S. Air Force Maj. Bakary Jallow, Environmental and Public Health Officer, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), was just eight-years-old and living in The Gambia, Africa, he watched his then four-year-old sister fight Malaria, a disease which kills millions of people every year. Eventually it spread to her brain causing her to develop Epilepsy, which causes her to have seizures.

U.S Army Engineers from the 760th Engineer Vertical Construction Company (EVCC), assisted the Djiboutian National Army’s Rapid Intervention Battalion (RIB), with improving their existing training range, Sept. 16, 2020, near Ali Oune, Djibouti. The newly improved range will better prepare the RIB to train their Soldiers in a wider variety of operations.
